You can buy Mobic sold under another name. For instance, we sell the drug under its unpatented name Meloxicam. It is made and sold by the known generic-making company Sun Pharma. The benefit of buying a generic is that you get the same medication several times cheaper than the branded one. The principle of Meloxicam action is mainly due to selective inhibition of COX-2, which leads to suppression of the formation of pro-inflammatory mediators in the area of inflammation. The formulation does not adversely affect the synthesis of prostaglandins in the digestive system and kidneys.
Intake with food does not affect absorption. The maximum level in the blood is reached after 5-6 hours. A stable therapeutic level in the blood is reached half of the week to one week after the start of the course. It undergoes a transformation in the liver. The half-life of the pills is about 20 hours, which allows you to take it 1 time per day. Elimination from the body occurs by the kidneys and bowel in equal shares.
In elderly people, there is only a mild rise in the half-life of the medication and diminished plasma clearance (noticeable in women).
There is no substantial alteration in the parameters or a raised risk of adverse effects when the medication is used in individuals with hepatic or moderate kidney failure (cc - 20–40 ml/min).

The highest daily dose is 15 mg.
In the presence of risk factors predisposing to adverse effects occurrence, treatment should begin with a dosage of 7.5 mg per day.
In individuals with severe kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis, the dosage must not surpass 7.5 mg per day.
In individuals with moderate kidney failure (cc> 25 ml/min) and in individuals with clinically non-progressive liver cirrhosis, dosage lowering is not needed. For children under the age of 15, Mobic is not appointed.

- NSAIDs suppress the production of kidney prostaglandins involved in supporting of normal levels of renal blood flow. Therefore, when prescribing NSAIDs to individuals with lowered renal blood flow, there is a risk of kidney decompensation. The possible negative effect of NSAIDs on the kidneys should be considered when prescribing Meloxicam to patients with dehydration, congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome, severe kidney impairment, as well as persons taking diuretics who underwent surgery that led to hypovolemia. In individuals of these categories, it is necessary to control urination and kidney function.
- The medications from the class may raise the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction and stroke. The higher are the dosages and the longer is the treatment, the more real the risk is. This risk is higher in the presence of heart diseases or risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, use of oral birth control pills, tobacco smoking, and so on.

Interactions of Mobic
Before you order Meloxicam, make sure to check that you don’t use any medicines it is incompatible with:
- In the simultaneous use of Meloxicam with other NSAIDs, the risk of erosive and ulcerative lesions and bleeding in the digestive tract increases.
-The combined use of the drug with blood thinners, thrombolytics, antiplatelet agents should be avoided as it raises the risk of bleeding.
- In simultaneous use with diuretics, the risk of developing acute kidney dysfunction in individuals with low level of fluids is raised, and therefore patients using Meloxicam in combination with diuretics should receive a sufficient amount of fluid. In this category of patients, before starting Meloxicam therapy, it is necessary to examine renal function.
- Meloxicam can cause a delay in sodium, potassium, fluid, as a result of which, in predisposed individuals, the risk of progression of heart failure and elevated arterial tension increases.
- Meloxicam reduces the effectiveness of arterial tension-lowering medicines and intrauterine birth control means.
- Meloxicam can enhance the hematotoxicity of Methotrexate. If they are used together, laboratory control of blood is necessary.
- The medication potentiates the toxic effect of cyclosporine on the kidneys, so with their combined use, kidney function should be monitored.
- The use of Meloxicam with lithium salts results in a rise in the level of lithium in the blood plasma.
- Cholestyramine speeds up the elimination of Meloxicam.
- No clinically significant interaction with antacids, cimetidine, digoxin, and furosemide were detected.
